Shiokness II

Wednesday, June 28th, 2006

Shiokness is sitting on the Panasonic massage chair during work… Really damn shiok sia! Heavenly! Even better when after work The Wife gives me another massage. Hehe…

More shiokness when I feel myself recovering my lost form at work. After a long period of drought, finally managed to exceed the $10k mark on Sunday again when I clocked a total of $12095 in sales for the day. Not really something to shout about, but feels good all the same. It’s been a long time since I went past the $10k barrier, now that it’s back, it feels shiok to regain my form. Devastating!

Tvfine Something else to share… No comments about this from me. Just click on the picture to view it.

Also think the link in one of my recent previous posts did not work, so here is the link again for the kangtao, for anyone who is interested to give it a try.

OK enough of my nonsense… Back to my work in trying to get stuff finalised for my Lombok trip next month! Have a good weekend ahead everyone!

Shiok-ness

Saturday, June 24th, 2006

Shiok-ness is after a week of hard work, The Wife stays over at my place to watch soccer with me at 3am, and gives me a nice long full-body massage. Maybe that’s her way of showing appreciation for working hard to save up so that I can accompany her on a trip in July. But such sweetness and consideration just makes doing all that for her worth it.

Thanks, Dear! You’re just making me love you more…

Post Number 100

Wednesday, June 14th, 2006

Back! Firstly would like to make some apologies. Sorry to all you guys whom I failed to reply to your SMS-es or emails etc the past few days, and also to those whose phone calls I failed to pick up. Had been very busy working. First there was the PC Show followed by Atrium sale at BIG at harbourfront, then there was the APAO Conference. Having a well-deserved break right now, so begrudge me not!

Will try to post some photos that I took during the past couple of weeks or so, so watch out for it in my photo album if you are interested k? Those on the conference will be pretty interesting I believe.

Talking about the conference, it was pretty interesting although extremely tiring! The moment I reported for work on the first day there was immediately a shocker to wake me up. The floor manager for our team had problems turning up at the last minute, and because I was the first in our team to report for work, I kena arrowed to take over her job! No prior experience for conventions etc… It was an eye opening I must say, though it was very intimidating at first. However true to the Tekmedia spirit of last-minute changes and having to smoke my way around, I think I survived. The fact that there was someone to guide me along, and that the rest of the team were generally cooperative helped matters greatly too!

Anyway during the course of the five days there, I must say I learnt a great deal, about dealing with foreign delegates, dealing with team members (the nice and cooperative ones as well as the not-so-nice ones), dealing with office politics etc etc… A crazy five days, but also fun because of the crazy group of people I worked with in the same team. If any of you people are seeing this, you guys were simply great! It was wonderful working with you all!

Hehe no mood to blog more for today. Shall go upload the pictures liao. Take care, everyone! Realised that more people read my blog than I expected, though the number of comments is still few. But oh wells… Anyway this blog is only for my friends, not meant for the "public"

Byebye, Cheers!   ;)

Geniuses in Singapore

Wednesday, June 7th, 2006

Been a very busy week for me. First there was the PC Show, where there were many people but overall sales for most brands was slow. Managed only about $18k of sales, way below my personal target of $40k. It did not help that this pu bor who is a Panasonic full-timer stole my $4999 42-inch Plasma TV sale! He better don’t let me see him again or I’ll spit in his face!

The past 2 days had been spent in Harbourfront where you get to meet people of similar levels of ignorance (sometimes coupled with arrogance) as the people on "The Peak" of Singapore- Boon Lay. Maybe Mount Faber nearby, so all swakoos! Among some of the "highlights" of my two days there:

1) This uncle came up to me and said my 20-inch LCD TV selling at $699 (Yes, $699! Hurry before stocks run out!) is way too expensive. He said he saw somewhere a 21-inch LCD (Yes, 21 inch! I wonder which manufacturer made that…) selling at $199! Well what more can I say but ask him go buy that one lor!

2) Another fella came and looked at the steam iron. The beginning of the conversation started normally enough…
He:     I have a question to ask you about this iron.
Me:     Sure, what would you like to find out?
He:     I was thinking, if I am using the iron and then halfway…
Me:     Yes, what about that?
He:     And then I put my hand on the underside of the iron, would my fingers get burned?
Me:    *&^%$#@! I don’t know about that because I don’t iron my own clothes…

Another genius also asked whether my $14.90 steam iron could be used without an ironing board… I really wonder…

Oh yes, the NUS Business School ad that has been the talk of town! Isn’t it such an inspired piece of work? I always knew that it was a great honour for me to be a student of NUS Business School, and the ad simply confirmed that. Now I can walk with my head held high when I proclaim to the world that is where I am working for my degree! I always knew somewhere in my mind that if I had not studied so hard, I would have received one of the less prestigious government overseas scholarships and be sent off somewhere, maybe Wharton. But thankfully I studied hard, so I am now in NUS, which is the preferred choice over any other overseas Unis!

Bet you that next intake, they will be begging people to apply for the overseas scholarships! You will also never hear of ministers’ and MPs’ children choosing to go overseas to further their studies, because these people are the one who say at every elections that they have worked hard to make the Singaproe education system first-world. As such, they will never even consider sending their children overseas where they will be receiving lower standards of education. The same goes for the HDB programmes which they also claim every five years they have been doing a wonderful job! Isn’t it a well-known fact that the job is so well-done and so perfect that every ruling-party MP insists on only staying in a HDB flat, and private property is out of the question?

OK, cukup. Don’t say more. Prison got no broadband. Have a good weekend ahead, all. Good luck with your World Cup bets too, though I’ll be seriously endeavouring to stay away. Even if not betting, just enjoy the matches, just like what I’ll be doing. Cheers!
